Tinu is a life cycle assessment (LCA) practitioner with a strong background in Chemical engineering and environmental impact analysis. With a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Michigan Technological University, she specializes in integrating sustainability into industrial processes, optimizing resource use, and guiding businesses toward eco-friendly solutions.
Currently, Tinu serves as a Sustainability Consultant at DuPont, where she conducts LCAs for Dupont's Electronics and Industrial businesses. She helps streamlines data collection and assessment workflows, aligning corporate strategies with sustainability goals. Her experience in LCA methodologies and software like SimaPro, makes her a key contributor to sustainability initiatives.
In addition to her consulting role, Tinu co-leads Clear into the Future®, DuPont’s sustainability engagement program. Under her leadership, the initiative won the American Chemistry Council’s 2024 Sustainability Leadership Award. She oversees grant distribution, project selection, and community outreach, ensuring that environmental projects align with DuPont’s 2030 sustainability targets.
Earlier in her career, Tinu worked at KPMG as an Experienced Staff Assistant in the Energy and Natural Resources division. Her time at KPMG strengthened her expertise in financial accounting, risk assessment, and corporate sustainability reporting—skills that continue to inform her work in environmental impact analysis today.
Tinu’s career also includes extensive research in lithium-ion battery recycling, where she developed patented processes for material recovery. Her research contributions have been recognized in high-impact journals and international conferences, underscoring her commitment to sustainable material management and circular economy solutions.
Beyond her professional achievements, Tinu is passionate about mentorship, technical writing, and fostering diversity in STEM. She has facilitated graduate writing programs, mentored students in sustainability and engineering, and led initiatives for professional organizations such as the National Organization for the Professional Advancement of Black Chemists and Chemical Engineers (NOBCChE).
With a career dedicated to sustainability, innovation, and process optimization, Tinu continues to drive meaningful environmental change while shaping the future of sustainable industries.
