Rifat A. Karim is a sustainability leader and life cycle assessment (LCA) expert with over 7 years of experience in Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), product stewardship, and sustainability strategy. As Manager of Product Sustainability and LCA at Birla Carbon she leads global efforts to quantify and reduce the environmental impact of carbon black products through advanced LCA modeling, carbon accounting and stakeholder engagement.
Her work bridges deep technical expertise with strategic insights. She has authored peer-reviewed publications on ecotoxicity & metal speciation, sustainable agriculture and supply-chain process optimization. She is a recognized sustainability voice in the carbon black industry, representing Birla Carbon at the International Carbon Black Association (ICBA) and contributing to ASTM sustainability sub-committees.
Rifat holds master’s degrees in environmental and chemical engineering. Her career reflects a blend of scientific rigor and business insight, driving sustainability and circular economy thinking in the manufacturing sector.
