About this Presenter
Dr. Hong Jin is a business development manager for renewables at AmSpec Group, where she is responsible for developing business portfolios for low carbon fuels and energy services, such as hydrogen, sustainable aviation fuels, carbon capture and sequestration, and radiocarbon dating services. Prior to joining AmSpec, Dr. Jin has worked in the Energy Transition Team at Geosyntec Consultants, Inc for three years and has been leading their LCA practice. Dr. Jin has 13 years of oil and gas industry experience, working for integrated companies including ConocoPhillips, Phillips 66, and Chevron.
Dr. Jin has an extensive experience on life cycle assessment (LCA), greenhouse gas (GHG) modeling, process optimization and efficiency improvement. Her work has supported projects on sustainable development policy, portfolio management and long-range planning, regulatory advocacy and compliance, biofuels registration and commercialization (through California LCFS and EPA RFS2), capital projects, and technology functional reviews. She has served as Center of Excellence on LCA at all three companies and has established and led a corporate-wide LCA Network at ConocoPhillips. She is currently a lead verifier for California LCFS pathways and Oregon Clean Fuel Pathways accredited by California Air Resource Board (CARB) and Oregon Department of Environmental Quality (OR DEQ). Dr. Jin has served on the LCA panels of API and CRC (Coordinated Research Council), the Industry Committee of American Center for LCA, participated in the DOE USDRIVE study Phase 1, the Argonne National Lab biannual LCA workshops, and is the section editor for Elsevier’s “Encyclopedia of Sustainable Technologies” published in 2017. She has also been invited as a subject matter expert to review the 2011 Future Transportation Fuels study by NPC (National Petroleum Council).
